EMMA SAAL, studio owner 

A native of DC, I grew up taking summer ballet at the Washington School, attending the local University of MD, and moving into Dupont in my early 20’s.  Full-time assistant to a real estate developer, part-time cocktail waitress, my life seemed comfortably familiar and my lifestyle pretty unhealthy.   A fellow bartender buddy invited me to a bikram yoga class.  At that moment, my love affair with yoga began. Choosing quickly to register for the Yogaworks 200-hr intensive.

To be able to share my passion for the body, and movement; to motivate my students to challenge themselves from a space of patience, to inspire them to slow down and focus, I knew that teaching yoga was my purpose. I began teaching all over DC, MD and VA; at various studios and gyms, embassies and elementary schools.

After being introduced to a hybrid of yoga and martial arts,  my personal practice elevated to a new level-- greater strength to my physical body, an empowerment to my spirit.

Summer of 2010, I moved to Miami to study Pilates and Barre.  In Florida, I got back on the mat as a student. I also had a part time job at lululemon athletica, a company that cultivates personal development, goal setting and creating a balanced quality of life.

When I step on my mat it grounds me.  It challenges me and allows me to soften. When I step off my mat, I am lighter.  I approach life with more ease.  I slow down and remain present. I breathe better, I feel better.

Life is about evolution and transition, and how we respond.  To open this studio is my greatest dream come true, it is my path I commit to with gratitude and integrity.  Join me, come as you are, welcome to this epic experience.
